You know, I've met people that actually like Arners, which puzzles me. Don't get me wrong, I end up going there a handful of times a year but not because it's a great brunch spot or anything. The food is not great, it all seems to come from cheap and frozen ingredients. I usually get the pancakes which come out okay but my fiancee has been all around the menu and many of the dishes he's tried have been sub par. The French fries, in particular, are not very good. They're reminiscent of cafeteria fries. But here's the catch: Arner's is actually pretty hilarious and if you're looking to have some standard food and watch some kind of bizarre live action comedy of errors for like two hours, you should go! That's why we go so often. Every time we've been in we've witnessed something pretty funny, like a Cheers-y regular sitting at the bar even though it's 9 AM on a Sunday. If you want good food go somewhere else but if you want a reasonably priced New Castle adventure come on down to this Arner's. (PS: solid hangover spot!)
Showed up around 3 for an early dinner when we noticed there wasn't a car in the driveway but we decided to give them the benefit of the doubt due to the awkward time. Immediately after going inside we regretted our decision. The air conditioning wasn't on and it was probably 90 degrees inside. We got salad bars with our meals, which the salad bar was basically empty and consisted of old, white lettuce.... we still decided to give them a chance when the waitress came back and told us that they didn't have 2 out of the 3 entrees we ordered available. We changed our orders and still gave them the benefit of the doubt.. Right after, I was walking to the bathroom when I noticed water dripping on my head. I looked up and there was a huge gaping hole in the ceiling pouring out water. Needless to say, we decided to leave, realizing that it was only going to get worse at this point. Do not go here. Terrible vibe from the second we walked in.
For being open first thing you would expect a place to be clean. Well this place was disgustingly dirty. Looks like floors weren't swept in days. I honestly thought the place was closed. There was only one car in the lot. That should have been my first sign to keep moving. It's a shame... Don't know if it's under new management/ownership but this place was always busy on a Saturday morning. It was a ghost town. Last time I ever eat there again.
I stopped here about three weeks ago. My experience was a great wonderful time. Very caring professional staff. I order a slice of cheesecake to go. However I asked for two different topping for the one piece of cheesecake. They honored my request without extra charge, awesome !
Quick service. Tim is the best. He is friendly, quick, and courteous. He is the main reason we keep coming back.
